Thats is correct. The tweeter is only ment to produce high frequencies only so all your cymbals and hi hats and the s's will sound crisp and clear. They are worth it trust me

I didn't get tweeters installed in my truck because my 2-way JL Audio speakers have a tweeter built into them. So there was no NEED for separate tweeters if I wasn't looking to set off car alarms with the sound. An amplifier powering only your speakers will be the best upgrade in my opinion versus getting new tweeters installed. Adding more tweeters is nice, but adding an amp to the speakers you currently have is even nicer.
Theirs probably no need for them but the sound does change when you have the tweeters aimed at your leg instead of your head. Most people wont hear the difference because they just crank up the high end and the low end. Forcing the speaker to work a little harde. But im sure the JL's can handle it
