Also, today being "Cyber Monday", there are several OBD2 scanners on sale on various websites. The one that caught my eye is the OBDLink MX+ for $60 (although I use a competitor product, the BlueDriver). These type of devices might help you further diagnose your trouble code.
Lastly, there are several members here that are VERY good in diagnosing problems (better than I am). They have helped me immensely with the problems I've experienced. You probably need to give them more information about your vehicle (year / specific model / trim, etc) and maybe take a pic using your phone of what you see (what you've described).
