Unfortunately I have to say farewell to you all as a fellow GM truck owner. My 06 Silverado and my 09 Sierra served me well, but this past weekend I went to the "other team." I am now a proud owner of a 2011 Dodge Ram sport with the 5.7 Hemi. I hope most of you are level headed enough not to flame me for the decision but I am very happy with my new truck. It has all the features I wanted, with half the miles of my old GMC, a remaining factory warranty, and at very little extra cost. I am also in the works of selling my 2000 Z71 for extra cash as I am buying a house soon.

I thank all of you guys who have helped me out along the way on this forum. Down to my roots I am indeed a GM man. I already know that my next truck will be my dream GMC Duramax.

You can find me around a Dodge or Ram forum by the same username, so if you're ever around stop by and say hey! Thanks again everyone. Have fun driving your GM's.. they sure are nice trucks!!!

(If anyone wants to buy my old truck, it's at Beau Townsend Nissan located in Vandalia, OH! I wish I could know she'll be in good hands! I miss her already!)

Don't be afraid to stop in and offer input, as a G.M. owner and truck owner your opinion will be valued. As far as flaming goes, I've owned Ford ,Dodge and G.M. and they were all great trucks and guess what? They all broke at one time or another!

When I bought my 2013, I looked at an F150 Lariat. I might have gotten the Lariat if the dealership would have come down on price. The Chevrolet dealer wanted my business more than the Ford dealer I guess.

Thanks guys. Ya'll are great. I'm not going to disable my account or anything but wanted to say "goodbye" in a way because I probably won't be on too much lol. For now I still have the lifted 2000 Z71. It needs breaks and rotors all the way around. I'm going to fix it soon, then keep it for awhile to have some fun in! Then its craigslist time.

Honestly this Ram is going to take some getting used to. It's been almost 4 days with it now and it still feels a little foreign. I just don't feel "right" in it because I've always been a GM guy. I can say that it drives and handles quite a bit better (drives more like a car than a big a$$ truck), the suspension feels softer, and the 5.7 Hemi is alot more powerful than the 5.3. But the build quality isn't quite on par with my old GMC. For instance the doors feel quite a bit lighter and cheaper. I have the "Sport" model and I have to admit the interior is every bit as nice or nicer than the SLT/LTZ equivalent. Either way at the end of the day, THEY ARE BOTH GREAT TRUCKS. I feel like the Dodge is more comfortable and powerful, but the GMC felt sturdier and feels like it would handle heavy loads better. I can't wait to get started doing mods again, first up is running some Flowmaster super 10's.

Thanks again everybody.

At the last car show I went to, I sat in a 2013 Ram Laramie Longhorn and it did indeed have a really nice interior (lots of stitching, leather wrapper everything). It is definitely more upscale than the LTZ Silverado or Sierra Denali.

I would like to sit in a Silverado High Country when it comes out and see if it meets up with the luxury of a King Ranch or Laramie Longhorn.

Well crap... since we're all confessing here, I've got one to make to. I just couldn't bring myself to get a new Z71 (2010-2012) knowing it could have the PCV/AFM oil burning issue. So I had my wife go get this for me while I'm gone. It's a 2011 Toyota Tundra double cab Oklahoma Edition 4x4.

I understand if you have to kick me off the site lol. But just know, I told the wifey I WILL have a 90s era 5.7L mudrig that I'll build from scratch. I've always been a GM guy, but until they get this oil consumption thing straight, I can't buy one. If the '14s do well, maybe in a couple years I'll trade for a high country.

Whew. Feel better already confessin my sins. Land vehicle Pickup truck Vehicle Car Truck
