Right now I have a 2 inch lift on my suburban but my tires look tiny on it! I have 285/75/16's on it. I want a little bit wider and taller as well...what would yall suggest? I was thinking just 295's but not sure leaving the 75 or going up....not an expert on this lol...thing needs new tires all the way around either way so trying to figure out what to get.

I highly doubt you'll visually see a difference between 285/75/16 to 295/75/16. The 295 will only be 0.6" taller overall. Going to a 305/75/16 will give you a 1.2" height difference, which will be more noticeable.

What would going with the 85 do? I know the 275 to 305 would make it taller what about wider? I want it about a inch wider as well.

Problem is that 85 aspect ratio tires look dumb (too much sidewall). 315/75/16 would be 1.77" taller and 1.18" wider. If you do go with a taller tire, make sure to re-program your ECU with the new tire height.

Here is a good site for tire sizes.

What would you suggest for 1-2 taller and 1-2 wider...it seems the back tires don't stick out as much as the front ones even though they are all the same size. It looks like a big body builder with skinny legs...lol..

Obviously I am no mechanic here but I saw a pic of a truck with 265/75/16's on it and they were wider than my tires...is the lower the number the wider the tire or is it reverse of that?

265/75/16 are not wider than 285/75/16

The first number is the tire width in millimeters from sidewall to sidewall.
The second number is the aspect ratio of height/width (a 75 is 75% of the tire's width is the sidewall height) i.e. 285 * 0.75 = 213.75
The third is obviously the rim diameter.

Go to this website:
http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/tirecalc.php?tires=295-75r16-305-70r16

You will find a interactive tire size calculator there. Enter your existing tire size and the tires you're thinking about changing to.

Alot of the larger tires i have seen lately have both sizes on them somewhere. I had 33/12.5x17 on my burb at one point that cleared and handled awsome. Also with wider tires if you add a spacer to the rear so its the same width as the front it doesent follow rutts and dips in the road as bad.

What would be the size I would need for my truck? I am interested in the 315/75/16's yeah the 285's I got on it now are ALMOST wide enough on the front but the back needs to stick out more for my tastes...

They stick out wider for traction. If the front was as narrow as the rear, the rear tires would be going through the same soft rut instead of having something to bite

If you have the clearance... I'd run the 33x12.5x ... they will be 1" wider on the tread width. Another thing...when you go above 33's the cost of tires go up significantly.
