In California its 10% ethanol in the gas. I dont think it runs as well but were gonna save the world here in Cali (sarcasm).Sclam! I love my 4.8L, whats up with the 10% ethanol in your tank? how much $ do you save by adding 10% ehanol. Does adding ethanol have any side effects on the engine?
I sure hope you are not getting 11mpg with a 6.0 on the hiway! My 07 suburban 2500 with the 6.0 gets atleast 18.5 to 20 on the hiway and in city i avg.i have a 2003 2500 6.0. i was wondering if anyone got better then the 11mpg i'm currently getting and how you did it, how much mpg did you gain, and what did it cost?
i get better mpg on the highway but back and forth to work everyday is hills and city and i've been getting about 11.3 mpg. i wasn't sure if putting a catback exhaust or a cold air intake would help muchI sure hope you are not getting 11mpg with a 6.0 on the hiway! 13.9 and up. I keep my fooy out of it and drive no faster than 64 mph and have my Edge CS set at level 2 Economy. I have gotten 20 mpg on a decent trip.
Have you thought about a programmer/tuner. I saw a big difference installing the Edge CS.i get better mpg on the highway but back and forth to work everyday is hills and city and i've been getting about 11.3 mpg. i wasn't sure if putting a catback exhaust or a cold air intake would help much

I got no less than 2mpg. better on hi-way and at least 1-1.5 mpg. better on the streets with the edge. Keep in mind my suburban is adult owned and adult driven. i stay below the speed limit and take off from the red lights easy.what were you getting before the tune?
I have a 3/4 Ton 2500 Suburban there is no active fuel mgmt. on this model, the 6.0 in the half ton model does. You can't compare the new 6.0's with the old 6.0's. These new ones have the active management that automatically shuts off 4 cylinders when you don't need the power. Thats how you are getting such better gas mileage.
my 2011 2500HD Crew Cab 6.0 does not have active fuel management. Iwish it would have been available.I have a 3/4 Ton 2500 Suburban there is no active fuel mgmt. on this model, the 6.0 in the half ton model does.
I hear you, i guess from a GM / Engineer's point, any of their trucks with 2500/HD specs. are usually for work/towing. Especially with a Suburban. 3/4 Ton running gear in aBurb. would be for towing thus i cant see active fuel mgmt. in the 3/4 ton. not much towing capacity with 4 cylindersmy 2011 2500HD Crew Cab 6.0 does not have active fuel management. I get 13 mpg by the DIC!
