Hi All

On removal of the wiper pulse board...
From the previous ownership, there is an abundance of grease (that would have been intended for the pinion) all over this disc where the contacts slide, would this be bad for the operation of the pulse board?
The Pulse board that I replaced visually failed, the new replacement blew a diode and resistor in spectacular fashion, I am concerned that the insulating qualities of the grease here might have an adverse effect on the park feature? Also on the many you tube videos on pulse boards replacement, I dont see or hear mention of grease...
Is it normal for the pinion and nylon disc to require lubrication- I have my doubts?

What vehicle? They are usually inside the wiper motor itself, on the gmt400s they were known for cold solder joints and required resoldering rather than a replacement. My buddy replaced his on what is now my sierra, I only had high wiper on the burb and he gave me the old wiper motor assembly which I opened and showed him the problem. I fixed the cold solder joints and replaced my burbs wiper motor assembly with it. to his surprise everything worked as intended and it still does 5 years later. I took the burbs wiper motor and fixed the cold solder joints, I had to add a jumper in one spot, confirmed that everything worked and put it away for future use.

It might be worth creating your own thread if you have a problem and truck info will help a tonne.
