A noise that goes away while turning often points to bad wheel bearings. Another possibility would be brakes. Maybe CV joints, if it's 4wd.

Under normal use, yes 30K is probably a bit early for wheel bearings or CV joints. Probably about right for brake pads. Of course, there are things that could cause the other to go bad early, such as a torn boot on the CV joint.

It will interesting to see what the dealer's shop says it is.
