Hey all!

And a very happy new 2008!

I now had my '03 Burb for a month and a half and made som 2500 miles. Total on the meter is 30 K.

I've noticed an annoying (and worrying) sound, which seems to come from the left front wheel. It's a kind of rapidly pulsating rumbling noise. It goes away when I turn the wheel right ever so slightly, but it's there when going straight or turning left. I now have brand new, steel studded tires which gives more of a road noise, but this is somthing else. I'm taking it up with my dealer soon ( :grrrrrr: :rules: ), but would like to have some ideas as to the cause before that.

Any hints would be appreciated.

Under normal use, yes 30K is probably a bit early for wheel bearings or CV joints. Probably about right for brake pads. Of course, there are things that could cause the other to go bad early, such as a torn boot on the CV joint.

It will interesting to see what the dealer's shop says it is.
Yeah, that happened to my Grand Cherokee. Had to change the whole left front axle and repack the right CV joint and put on a new boot. Which was a pain in the a##. This boot looks good, though.

Talked to the dealer last week. He said: "Front wheel bearing! Bring it in." So I asked: "Is there a warranty covering this?" (Why am I such a jerk not getting all this in place before I sign the contract? That's what I allways do when I'm at work!?). So he said "dunno, talk to the boss :sign0023:". So we'll se what goes. Keep your thumbs! Meter is 30K.

Left front wheel bearing gone apesh*t! Cost of new bearing + work = $900. After som discussions - all covered by warranty. The car is spinning like a kitten again.

Thank's for all your tips and a big THANK YOU to the dealer. Got it fixed in 2 hrs.
