Hi guys and girls. So I just bought my first truck 7 months ago. And I found a toggle switch underside of my drivers console. It has a red tip. Anybody might know what is is. I flipped it each way so not a kill switch. Any ideas.

Kimberly, it could be anything the PO wanted and didn't disconnect when they sold it. You will have to trace the wires to see where they go. The red tip is just a insulator on the toggle. Be careful if you do trace the wires especially if it is connected to a fuse or battery wire somewhere. Disconnect the battery first just to be on the safe side.

Does your truck have an aftermarket alarm?
If so, this could be a valet switch, being kind of hidden like it is gives me that impression.

X3 on tracing the wires, and disconnecting the battery. It is not something that came on the truck from GM. It could be for almost anything.

i hate tracing under the dash. gotta find the calm chi before and during that ****. i lay down on the floorboard and put my feet on the top of the door. more comfortable on the back

do you have aftermarket alarm? u may not have the remote but the system may still be installed .maybe some type of aftermarket lighting
