So, what's the best way to fix the door latch/handle/lock issue that is so prevalent on the 90's era Suburbans? I have a rear driver's side door that needs some yet-to-be diagnosed help and the front passenger door doesn't seem right when you pull on the interior handle. Passengers struggle with it to get out.

So, should I just get brand new OEM parts or junkyard or is someone making improved aftermarket parts? I'm guessing I'll possibly be replacing the latch and/or striker on the front door, and I'm not sure what yet on the rear door.

Well the 99 Burb I got yesterday has a broken inside handle on the drivers door. From the p.o. rolling down the window and pulling up the outside handle to exit the vehicle, its broken as well. At the moment I'm planning on replacing them with new ones from ebay (20 bucks each) If this is something that's gonna happen alot I'd like to find out if there's some upgraded items available.

Half the burbs I looked at before buying this one had broken handles. It's a common weak spot on this era suburban... however, I don't know of any upgraded parts yet - just the stock ones, which should last another ten years before breaking, I assume.
