So, the hubby and I finally figured out which year(s) of Suburban we wanted, with the 6.5 Turbo Diesel... then we proceeded to find a pretty good deal on a '95 with only 92,000 miles on it... so we're happy, right?
Well, we knew, going into the deal, that there wasn't a 3rd row bench... but we figured 'no biggie, we can find one of those'. The guy selling the Burb to us didn't really realize that he was wrong when he told us it was set up for putting in a 3rd row seat. Until we saw pictures of the cargo area (doing this over the internet), and realized that the only hardware back there are the tie-down points for the cargo net!
Not good.
We still want to go ahead with the deal, cuz we are very happy with the vehicle overall, but with six kids to tote around, we've gotta figure out how to set this thing up to take a 3rd row seat. I'm HOPING and PRAYING that some peeps here might have some suggestions/input for us.
In looking at a friend's Burb, I'm wondering if there is a chance that the 'hook up points', the little wells with the bar going across inside of it, might just be underneath the carpeting? And I'm also wondering if the anchor points, for the seatbelts, are still on the frame, just hidden under the plastic molding? Or are we going to have to find these things at a junkyard and have them welded in or something?
Again... any input would be very much appreciated! Thanks!!!
