2004 vs 2005 - Any big differences?

OK so I am trying to buy my first Suburban
(upgrading from an '01 f150 7700 with a billion miles & issues)

Test drove a 2005 LT last week, totally loaded with every random bell & whistle imaginable. My wife loves the heated leather seats but honestly I can take em or leave em. Doubt that I will really use the nav or the DVD player (no kids). It has 123k on the clock and is an extremely smooth ride, though to be fair I think just about anything would be a big upgrade over my current vehicle.

It's local, literally 5 miles from my house, and about 2 from my mechanic who would check it out before I made any decision. The dealer said he would take $7000 for it

Then this morning I found a 2004 LS. One owner, no accidents, clean title, only 100k miles, looks super duper clean. It's about $1000 cheaper, is a 90 minute drive out of state, and I would bring my cousin who is a big time gearhead/Chevy expert to come check it out with me. Doesn't have all the crazy trimmings but still looks wicked nice, and its in my color.

The '05 has a lift gate & the '04 has the barn doors. I don't really care about that either way

So my question is, are there any major differences or issues with these 2 years?
I read something on a message board about both these years having some issues with the transfer case

Anybody have an '04 or '05 out there?

IMO same. The real issue is this: when you find a clean car fax, rust free, low mileage GMT 800 at a fair price, you can't hesitate. These are great vehicles, and those in the know know it and snap them up quick.

^^^^ That

They all have the transfer case issue but mine didn't go until 190k. Rust free is the big thing to look for.
