Anyone know where the air idle control value is located on a 2008 Silverado 1500 5.3? Does it have one? Having idle issues with my truck, I turn it on and runs for about 2-3 minutes at around 500-650rpm and then it slow starts to go down to around 200rpms and idle around there. Anyone know what could be the problem?

Check the OP sensor wiring and connector, too. Your cruise control doesn't work? That's what the p0573 is: bad CC contacts in the brake switch. Don't try replacing it just yet if cruise is working.

Edit: Do you have AFM?

With AFM you need to clean or replace the screen filter under the OP sensor. With the sensor removed it can be pulled out with needle nose pliers or hemostats. I'll find a video for you.

When you remove the screen if it is plugged up you are not changing the oil and filter often enough. Using conventional oil will also tend to plug this screen. Use only GM approved Dexos synthetic oil such as Mobile1 5w30.
