99 suburban running funky


ok so i have a 99 suburban 5.7 k1500 automatic and its running funky i start it and it runs fine sometime other times it feels like its missing but then it warms up to temp i turn it off and then go back later and its fine or not so what its doing is missing and spitting but only some times its baffled me check wires cant find vac leak fuel filter changed cleaned egr checked plugs looks good any ideas wood be great thanks guys:neutral:​

When was the last time you did a cap and rotor? And cleaned the IAC? Also how do you mean running funky? How many miles??

i have not changed the cap and rotor yet but plane to money is real tight the guy who owned it before my broke the hold down on the the dist. i will drive it for 10 mins gets better then turn it off go back later any were from 10mins to 3 4 or 5 hrs and its much better still feel it a little

WEll to be honest that is a plastic Dist in that motor and you will have to change the whole thing to get the cap to mount right. And the previous owner might not be the guilty party, that is what happens when the Bushings go out in the distributor... Which is common on these motors.

The random will and can be caused by the Dist... Since the cap really isnt sitting right that can cause it to be intermittent.
