try this out

My 2002 silverado did that to me with only about 20,000 miles on it. I took wd40 and sprayed in the key hole and turn back and forth, eventually was able to pull the key out. Cleaned it off and kept putting in and out several times , until eventually all the crap ( metal shavings) were cleaned out. My theary is the wear of the parts in the cylinder, new, clogged it up, causing the jam. Normal would use powdre graphite to lubricate a lock, but that does not allow debris to come out, only adds more.
