Transmission Issues with My 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4

I recently bought a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 and have been enjoying its power and performance. However, I’ve run into a bit of a snag and could really use some advice. Lately, I’ve noticed some transmission issues that have me concerned. When I shift from park to drive, there’s a noticeable delay before the truck actually starts moving, and sometimes it even jerks forward unexpectedly. It's been happening more frequently, especially when the truck is cold.

Additionally, I’ve experienced some rough shifting between gears while driving at higher speeds. It feels like the transmission hesitates, and then there’s a hard shift that jolts the whole vehicle. I’m worried that this could lead to bigger problems down the line. I've checked the transmission fluid levels, and everything seems normal there, so I’m not sure what else could be causing this.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues with their Sierra 1500, or does anyone know what might be causing these transmission problems?

I’ve also noticed a slight whining noise when the truck is idling, which I’m not sure is related to the transmission problem or something else entirely. Could it be the torque converter or maybe an issue with the drivetrain? If anyone has any experience or advice on this, please let me know. Also, does anyone recommend a specific service center that specializes in GMC trucks?

I have a 2020 and have the same issue. I brought it into AAMCO and they found that there was a lot of metal in the fluid. Further inspection found that teeth had broken from the gear that drives the pump, as well as damage to the associated bearing. Apparently there is a service bulletin related to this, but I knew nothing of it till now. GM updated those parts beginning in 2022, as it became a known issue. If you have whining coming from the transmission, this is the most likely cause. Unfortunately the fix is around $8k!

Unfortunately yes you got a problem your transmission is worn out. Next time be sure you put a cooler on it the maximum temperature should be 180 and you need to put dual fuel filters on the transmission lines So you can change them easy And when you put them And parallel not series Parallel Next next to each other. You get the micron Filtration way down 1,2,3 ? . People don't seem to realize there's a fiber metal clutch inside the torque converter that's why it's a lock up torque converter and it puts on incredible amounts of crap Into your Fluid And you don't have much of a filter stock, Think about it It has to filter just coarse particles for the dummies that never change their fluid and believe the factory when it says you don't have to do it for 50,000 miles or more. Sure there is a magnet glue to the bottom of the pan but that's just for a few metal particles what about all the other abrasive copper, bi-metal parts are in there grinding the hell out of everything. I watchd many transmission rebuilds And The major problem is Grits

has the tranny been serviced at all if it hasnt i would change the fluid and screen and if you can do it yourself change the 1 and 2 shift solenoids not 2 hard to do watch a few videos on the net. sometimes when its really cold you may need to let it warm up some. if you cant do it you should get it serviced then.
