I've got a 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a 4.8 L V8 and 115k miles. Recently it started hesitating or running rough during slow acceleration or maintaining speed at about 1500 RPM while in 3rd or 4th gear. This is about 45 or 53 MPH. Giving it more gas accelerates the truck through/past this rough spot. It seems to run fine when going faster or slower. My CEL was on but that was due to a P0449 which has nothing to do with this. I have since corrected that problem.

So far I have replaced the plugs and the wire set and the problem persists. Up next is the fuel filter & air filter. I'm not optimistic that either of these is the issue but regular maintenance requires that they be changed.

Any advice?

It's been 3 years since I reported this issue and I have no recollection of what I did that got it to go away. 150k+ miles and I don't have the issue anymore. I did end up getting a hole in a wire shortly after this happened so I'm not sure if my original issue was a problem with my wireset and my new wireset was faulty and just continued with the same symptom...

I had a similar problem. Had the transmission flushed at which time they discovered the filter sitting in the transmission pan. I do not know if it was the flush or the filter properly installed but the problem was fixed.
