Hey there,
I was on my way to work Thursday when my power steering went out on me and I couldn't accelerate to pull over... I've checked it out a bit and the fuel pump is working fine it seems, I don't believe the alternator is the culprit because it's turning over, just not cranking, the voltage gauge seems to be reading a little low (roughly 12), I beat around a little on the gas tank to try and loosen any debris up, still nothing. There was a strong smell of gas after that and a good sized wet spot that covered the bottom of the back end of the tank. It looked like either dirty gasoline or semi-clean oil and had no smell to it. I'm at a loss and this is my only form of transportation right now. I really don't want to take it to a shop. Plus I don't think a tow truck would fit in my driveway.. Any ideas?
It is a 1990 Silverado k1500 5.7L...
Thanks in advance!
