whats the difference between a.i.r. header and a non a.i.r. header?

A.I.R. stands for Air Injection Reaction - basically, and air-pump. The A.I.R. headers have fittings on the #2 and #3 cylinders for the air pump to inject outside air into the exhaust stream to help decompose the pollutants.

If you don't have an AIR pump and metal tubes leading into your existing exhaust manifolds, then you don't need the A.I.R. headers.
