Hey Guys,
Recently I swap my factory radio on my 2008 Silverado to an USB capable factory radio. The original radio that I used to have was a 6cd mp3 radio (GM # 25864960) and the new one (10-14 Silverado Sierra Denali Radio 6 Disk CD MP3 USB **UUN** GM # 20935459) has the same features except it has a usb port in the back, which is why I did the swap. I bought the new radio on ebay and it was VIN locked. I took it to a local place to get it unlocked and I did the installation myself; it was basically plug & play. After this, the radio worked just fine but later on I have this random problem every now and then which the radio will not turn on to hear music but the display is ON showing the clock and the cd symbol (see the attached picture). There are days where the radio works ok, it lets me hear music while driving to work and from work to home. But as I said, the issue happens randomly; the radio is working OK one day and the other is just not turning on, just the display. Even sometimes, probably 3 or 4 continuous days the radio stays off but just the display.

I hope somebody can pin point what the cause is and how to resolve it.

Thanks!

Nowedays double din radios are super cheap and you can add multiple features especially bluetooth audio where you dont even have to has the aux cable attached! I even have the steering wheel controls working and a reverse camera which is really handy.
