I have a 2006 Silverado. 4.8l V8.
My battery died today. Had to get a jump start to get home from work. Replaced the battery. I now notice my temp gauge is acting funny. The truck was at normal running temp. I turn on the key, the temp gauge goes up to about 200 where it should and then after maybe 5 seconds it goes back down to 160 and never moves.
Is there any connection between the dead battery and the gauge? Is it the temp sensor that is out? Should I have it scanned for codes?
Thanks!
