Hi everyone!

Have a pesky oil leak that I can't seem to wrap my head around. The vehicle is a 2014 silverado with the 5.3L flex and 6L80E transmission. The dripping appears to be coming where the bellhousing and engine meet. There's one little hole that I think it's coming from, but that's not the source of the leak. I took a look inside the bellhousing and it doesn't appear to be the rear main seal either, it was mostly a dry film when I pulled the little metal cover.

it only starts dripping after a few minutes when started, and stops shortly after it's off. That made me think oil cooler or the lines but it's not the right area for that type of leak - unless it's coming from higher up and takes time for it to drip down.

Four different mechanics said four different things so nobody knows what's wrong. The latest shop (which I trust) said it could be the valve cover and/or valley pan but it's hard to say since it's all crammed at the back of the engine. Maybe crankshaft position sensor? Knock sensor? I have no idea.

I'd double check to make sure it's not the classic oil cooler gasket leak before you get the rear main seal replaced. The 5.3 is infamous for doing this, and they look just like the rear main seal leak. Pry off the inspection cover and see if it's dry in there. If it's dry, then it might be the oil cooler gasket. Cheap part, easy fix.
